Cera Eye:

CeraEye Synthetic Hydroxyaptite Orbital Implant is highly bio-compatible and porous and tissue compatibility and integration is excellent. It has been found to be bio-compatible, bio-inert, non-toxic and non-allergic in all the cases, I have used.

A Boon To Every Oculoplastic Surgeon And Ophthalmologist

My association with CERA EYE started long before the product was launched and made available in the market. In addition to information that reached me from various sources about the indigenous research product being developed at Kolkata, I also had an opportunity to be a scientific reviewer for the original article submitted to the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology about the process of development of CERA EYE and its various physical and chemical characteristics. I was truly impressed by the quality of the scientific work done. Later, the article was published in the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology and made waves in the area of biological implant literature.

Once CERA EYE was available for clinical use, I had the opportunity to use it and immediately recognized the superb handling quality and benefits of the implant during the operative procedure. My expectations, based on my knowledge of the product and on what I felt and saw during the operation, proved true in the way the implant behaved thereafter. I say it with utmost sincerity that in not even one of the many scores of cases that I have used CERA EYE have I noticed any implant related complications like infection, exposure, or extrusion of the implant. This is a truly remarkable step forward for the surgeon and patient alike.

As Oculoplastic surgeons, the troublesome orbital implants which develop complications are a nightmare and all of us have patients who suffer greatly due to the physical limitations and suboptimal properties of the various post-enucleation and post-evisceration implants. In addition, the cost of some of these implants is too high for a majority of our patients. CERA EYE with its reasonable cost, excellent safety and ideal physical properties fills in this huge gap in the range of available orbital implants. I will not hesitate to say that my ideal Orbital implant and the one which I routinely use for my patients, even those who can afford the much more expensive implants available in the market is CERA EYE. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending CERA EYE as the best orbital implant available in the market anywhere.

It is my belief that indigenization of medical technology and use of appropriate cost-effective technology in healthcare is the need of the hour. CERA EYE is a shining example of what Indian scientists and doctors can achieve when they get together for the good of our patients.
